Non-Profit Regional Development Charge Grant Program

This program provides financial reductions for non-profit and charitable organizations based in Niagara region that have obtained (or plan to obtain) a building permit to build or expand existing facilities.

Organizations can receive a refund of up to 100 per cent of the Regional Development Charges paid.


Your organization must meet the following criteria to apply for the grant:

  • The organization is exempt from municipal taxation under the Assessment Act, or from taxation under Provincial or Federal legislation
  • Must not restrict membership in any way
  • Apply for funding within one year of receiving a building permit
  • Demonstrate how the development supports Regional Council's Strategic Priorities
