Illegal dumping is the disposing of waste in non-designated areas, such as rural areas, vacant lots and along the roadside.
We're working with all 12 local municipalities to address illegal dumping.

|$50||Given to any person whose report of illegal dumping results in an act of compliance
i.e. the person who was reported illegal dumping, returned to the site and removed the dumped materials
|$200||Given to any person whose report of illegal dumping leads to a conviction|
Any resident found guilty of illegally dumping could be fined up to $500, under Niagara Region's Waste Management By-Law.
