Rules and Format - 2012 Toque Tuesday Ball Hockey Tournament
The ball hockey tournament will take place on Feb. 11, 2012. The rules are as follows:
- Teams must have a minimum of 6 players.
- Minimum of 6 players is required on the rink: 4 players out and 1 goalie.
- Substitutions are allowed.
- It is suggested that all participants wear a helmet with full face protection, and hockey gloves at all times during play. Ice hockey equipment is permitted. Goalie equipment is permitted.
- Each game is 15 minutes long (straight time). A face-off at centre starts both halves. Games are to start right at the scheduled time.
- Possession: The last player to touch the ball before going out of bounds must forfeit the ball to the opposing team at the point of exit.
- A 3-minute penalty will be assessed to a player for any of the following infractions:
- Slashing
- Tripping
- Body Contact
- Slap-shots
- Abusive language
- When a goal is scored by the opposing team, the penalized team will return to full strength.
- No off sides or face-offs. Whistles are only to be blown for infractions and to end the game.
- When a goal is scored, the team scored upon is given centre.
- Goalies are not allowed to cross centre.
- Tied games will result in 1 point for each team. In the event of a tie in a playoff game (semi-final or final) a shoot-out, whereby each player is given a shot on net (a total of 3 shots per team) in order to break the tied game. If a tie still exists, then one shot is given to a player in turn on each team until the tie is broken.
- Games will not be rescheduled. If a team does not arrive within 5 minutes of game time, they shall default their game.

- We reserve the right to eject anyone, player or spectator, for questionable conduct.
- Final and most important rule is to have fun.
