Notice of water shutoff for York Road watermain upgrades in Niagara-on-the-Lake
Monday, May 25 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (weather permitting or the next business day)
Niagara Region is completing watermain upgrades along approximately 3.4 kilometres on York Road (Regional Road 81) between Concession 7 Road and Four Mile Creek Road (Regional Road 100).
The project will replace aging watermain infrastructure to support safe and reliable drinking water service and meet future growth needs in the area.
Work includes installing a new PVC watermain with valve chambers, fittings, joint restraints and related infrastructure.
To complete final connections for the new watermain, the water supply to properties serviced by the trunk watermain between Concession 5 Road and Queenston Road will be temporarily shut off during the work.
Niagara Region and the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake have notified residents, businesses and institutions in the affected area.
Fire departments have been notified and emergency access will be maintained.
For more information, visit the York Road Watermain Replacement project page.
What to do
- Close all taps before 7 a.m. on May 25 to avoid any flooding when your water supply is turned back on
- Try not to use the faucets while the water supply is shut off
- After work is completed, run cold water taps for a few minutes if needed to clear air or discoloured water from your lines
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
