Start 2012 Right with Physical Activity

The Canadian Physical Activity Guideline for adults aged 18-64 years suggest a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity per week to achieve health benefits. If 2012, is the year you commit to become more physically active, consider these tips to help you stay moving all year long.

  • Consult your health professional before beginning a new physical activity program
  • Get up and move! Incorporate physical activity throughout the day, in minimum bouts of 10 minutes or more
  • Find an activity that you enjoy and fits into your lifestyle
  • Make physical activity fun
  • Set weekly goals with rewards
