"Mov'n with Attitude" Pedometer Lending Program

Have you ever wanted to try out a step pedometer? Here's your chance! The "Mov'n with Attitude" pedometer kit is now available at most Niagara Region Public Libraries. Simply go to your local library, sign out a "Mov'n with Attitude" pedometer kit and start mov'n!

The kit includes:

  • A pedometer (for borrowing only)
  • Information on pedometers and walking
  • Information on how to get a FREE walking kit
  • A form to track your steps over time to help motivate you

What are Pedometers?
Pedometers are little devices that you clip on your waistline and count the number of steps that you take. Pedometers are great tools that help you make physical activity a part of your daily life and allow you to set goals for yourself.

Why Walk?
Walking doesn't require any special equipment (other than a pair of comfy shoes), and can be done almost anywhere by almost everyone! In fact, it's one of Canada's favourite physical activities. Make it one of your favourite pastimes by signing out a pedometer kit at your local library!

Health Canada recommends we take a minimum of 10,000 steps per day to achieve health benefits. Research has found most people take less than 3,000 steps each day. How many steps have YOU taken today?

Where Can I Get a Pedometer Kit?

Most Niagara Public Libraries will have kits available for loaning. For more information, visit your local public library.

Where can I get my Own Pedometer?

Most stores that sell sporting goods and fitness equipment sell step pedometers.
