Reporting Your Child's Illness to School - What to Say?

If you are calling to report a child's absence from school, include the child's name, date, the classroom and the reason for the absence.

When stating the reason for the absence, be as specific as possible, describing symptoms such as:

  • Fever
  • Runny Nose
  • Headache
  • Sore Throat
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Admitted to hospital

This information helps us keep track of the types of illnesses currently in the schools.
