Community Food Advisors - Who Are They?

Community Food Advisors (CFAs) are dynamic volunteers who promote healthy eating and food safety as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Niagara CFAs take a 70 hour training program which is certified by the Niagara Region Public Health Department. CFAs are supported and trained with up-to-date information from the Region's Health Inspectors and Registered Dietitians.

After training, CFAs are called on to provide presentations to schools, community agencies and other groups on the topics of healthy eating and food safety. These services are provided free-of-charge except for the cost of food when cooking sessions are requested.
