Travel Vaccinations

Viral SyringeWhen travelling internationally there may be diseases that put your health at risk. Vaccines are one of the best ways of preventing many of these diseases.

Depending on your destination, length of stay, activities during travel and current health status, our Travel Clinic can help you decide what vaccines are best for you. Some of these vaccines are routine, recommended or required for travel.

It is always good to know that you are up to date on all your routine vaccines, such as influenza, tetanus/diphtheria, and measles/mumps/rubella (MMR).

Vaccines may be recommended for diseases spread through contaminated food or water, such as hepatitis A or typhoid OR diseases spread through bodily fluids or unclean medical/spa equipment, such as hepatitis B.

Yellow Fever Vaccine

Yellow fever vaccine is required to enter certain South American and African countries. An 'International Certificate of Vaccination' for yellow fever must be carried with you to enter these countries. We are currently one of two clinics in the region that is authorized to give you this vaccine and certificate.

Look into Vaccines 2-3 Months Before you Travel

Don't forget, plan ahead. Some vaccines require more than one dose prior to travel. It is recommended that a traveller consult with a travel health clinic or their physician at least 2-3 months prior to departure.

Budget for them - unfortunately not all vaccines are covered by the government or health insurance plans.
