Over 50 communities across Ontario are participating in the 2010 Conservation Community Challenge. You can join the challenge and help Niagara Region demonstrate its leadership in energy conservation by taking a pledge to conserve energy.
The Community Challenge is part of the five month Power Pledge campaign that encourages residents to commit to a few simple, meaningful conservation actions to save money and help protect the environment. The Community Challenge culminates on Challenge Day, Wednesday, August 11, 2010.
The Region will compete against other municipalities to get the highest per-capita participation in The Power Pledge drive.
The Community Challenge is a collaboration of the Ontario Power Authority, the Electricity Distributors Association, the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, the Independent Electricity System Operator and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce - and their associated members.
You can participate by clicking on taking the online pledge on www.powerpledge.ca
Your enrollment will not only demonstrate Niagara's commitment to energy conservation, but you get 20 Air Miles when you sign up. 10 airmiles are also donated to a charity of your choice.
