How the Inspection Process Works

It only takes one mistake in handling food to lead to food poisoning. All retail food operators are responsible for knowing the risks and minimizing any risks for foodbourne illness.

Public Health Inspectors visit retail food establishments to complete a food inspection report and assess if they comply with all Food Premise Regulations. This report is posted to NiagaraInfoDine shortly after the inspection and will include any infractions found at the establishment. When necessary, Inspectors will close the establishment.
