Multi-Use Off Road Path and Road Lighting Improvements for Regional Road 50 (Merrittville Highway)

2016-T-121 Contract No (RN 16-21)

Sealed tenders, plainly marked as to contents, will be received by the Purchasing & Payables Office, Niagara Region, 1815 Sir Isaac Brock Parkway, Thorold, Ontario, until 2:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, March 23, 2017.

The work to be carried out under this contract consists of, but is not limited to:

  • 188m2 steel sheet pile retaining wall (design build)
  • 1,500m3 of excavation
  • 3,200 t of granular materials
  • 440m of concrete curb
  • 825 t of hot mix asphalt
  • 5,200m2 of topsoil and sod/seed
  • Roadway Lighting – 25 new poles

This contract utilizes the Niagara Peninsula Standard Contract Document (Revision 17) which forms the specification documents excepting the "Special Instruction to Bidders, Form of Tender and Supplementary Special Provisions".

Plans, specifications, and Form of Tender may be obtained from the Regional Offices, Purchasing & Payables Office in Corporate Services, 1815 Sir Isaac Brock Parkway, Thorold, Ontario. A non-refundable payment in the amount of $25, reflecting part of the cost of document preparation, will be required for each set of tender documents taken. Tender documents will be available for pick up on Thursday, March 9, 2017. Plans and specifications may be viewed without charge, but not removed, at the major construction association offices.

All tenders must be accompanied by a tender deposit in the amount of $75,000.

Tenders will be publicly opened at 2:15 p.m. at 1815 Sir Isaac Brock Way, Thorold. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
